University of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum

University of Heng Samrin Thbongkhmum (UHST), a public university established in 2016, aims to contribute to building human resources in response to job markets and social needs. UHST provides the public with education, research, community development, and social services focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Moreover, UHST had developed skills training in response to the labor market and socio-economic, increased research, creative ideas, and innovation, and promoted linkage between secondary and tertiary education. UHST staff and students have been trained to practice in the field of climate change and are required to participate in practical workshops in their respective areas to bridge the theories to the practices. UHST also offers consultation services to local people on planting crops, vegetables, fruit trees, forage crops, animals, and fish raising.

National University of Battambang

National University of Battambang was established in 2007 as a public university ideally located in the historic and beautiful city of Battambang under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. Cambodia has been suffering from the civil wars, therefore the capacity building is significant supports to the higher education in the country; however, the funding source from relevant from project and program would solve some of the current needs at NUBB like improvement of resource materials for teachers and students, improvement of classrooms and labs, new knowledge on concept of climate change on agriculture and application to Battambang region. Creation of startup opportunities for students and applications for improvement of agricultural practices for local and regional farmers and to benefit from, and contribute to, a highly productive relationship with the local community, government and non-government organizations, industrial companies, and consortium universities in the region and world.

MoEYS

The Ministry of Education Youth and Sport (MoEYS) aims to develop human resources with high quality of knowledge, skill and attitudes. To achieve this, MoEYS has the mission of leading, managing and developing the education, youth and sport sector in Cambodia in order to well respond to the socio-economic and cultural development needs of its people and the reality of regionalization and globalization. To achieve this, MoEYS has adopted 2 key policies: 1) Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all; and 2) Ensuring effective leadership and management of education officials at all levels. The Directorate General of Higher Education (DGHE), the institution joining this project consortium, is responsible for licensing, policy formulation, management, capacity building, and monitoring and evaluation of the functioning of higher education sub-sector of Cambodia.

BAU

Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is the premier seat of higher agricultural education and research in the country. Its scholastic activities cover all the domains of agricultural sciences, having a direct bearing on terrestrial and aquatic productivity. The main task of the university is to tone up the quality and standard of higher agricultural education and to produce first-rate agriculturists, agricultural scientists, and researchers to shoulder the responsibilities of the country’s agricultural development. BAU has highly qualified and experienced faculty and research staff conducting multidisciplinary research and teaching. It has more than 600 faculty members, most of whom possess a PhD from Europe, USA, Australia, Japan, etc. It has long-standing experience in implementing high-quality research in areas including dairy, poultry, fisheries, field crops, fruits, and vegetables, and economic and social sciences, agribusiness & entrepreneurship applied to agriculture. BAU is the top-ranked university among the 150 public and private universities in the country. The graduates of BAU are primarily fulfilling the demand of the labor markets in Bangladesh’s agriculture and agribusiness industries. The graduates of BAU have been playing a pivotal role in enhancing the food and nutritional security of the country. BAU’s multidisciplinary work has been funded by USAID, World Bank, USDA, DFID, EU, Danida, UKAID, and ADB, amongst other funding agencies. The university staff has substantial experience in the conduct of farmer participatory research, participatory needs assessment, labor market assessment, agribusiness training, gender evaluation methodologies, agribusiness, curriculum development, Hoar and Char development, and climate change.

SAU

Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) – P6 SAU was officially inaugurated on 02 November 2006 following the issuance of official recognition and notification by the Bangladeshi Government, having fulfilled all the requirements of university status. It was established to be referred to and known as the Sylhet Agricultural University by the Sylhet Agricultural University Act 2006, which was passed in the National Parliament on 03 October 2006. Seven faculties are available at the University, and among them, Agricultural Economics and Business Studies offer undergraduate programs to develop trained manpower in the field of agribusiness and agricultural economics. Faculties provide technical and scientific training to meet the manpower needs of society, and these represent key contributions of the SAU. The campus presently receives large numbers of applications from prospective students and currently has a large population of students, researchers, faculty members, post-doctoral fellows, and support staff, which are keys to meeting the university’s objectives. SAU provides an exceptionally sound and interesting variety of courses covering different fields of agriculture and its allied disciplines at all levels of higher education. In addition, it offers a series of short courses and training to meet middle-level manpower needs and several in-service training to meet the needs of the industry; SAU indeed has a solution for everyone.

Aarhus University Department of Agroecology

Aarhus University Department of Agroecology is an internationally recognized force for applied and basic research, education and innovation in agroecology – the interaction between climate, soil, plants, animals and people in agroecosystems focusing on promoting health and environmentally sustainable production of food, feed, energy and bio-based products. Climate change and weather variability is integrated in the course curricula and the projects activities. The department has experience in research and PhD education capacity building in the Global South through the Danish development cooperation program Danida, in Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, and also to the East in China, India and Bangladesh. We interact with stakeholders other than academia to provide innovative solutions to the challenges of the agricultural production related to yield and quality, reactive flows of nutrients and crop and soil degradation, through the university interdisciplinary centers such as the Centre for Sustainable Agrifood systems (START), the Center for Circular Bioeconomy (CBIO); and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Climate Change (iCLIMATE).

TSAC

TSAC locate in Tasey village, Thmor Kol district, Battambang province, Cambodia and was register legally in September 14, 2017 by the Department of Agriculture. There are 65 families growing in the open fields in Thmor Koul district, Battambang province in first stage. Currently, 172 families applied the service of this community and also has expanded our activities to other provinces such as Battambang, Pailin, Banteay Meanchey, Kandal, Kampong Speu, Tbong Khmum and Kampong Thom. TSAC also received the first Certificate of Good Agricultural Practice from the General Department of Agriculture in 2018.
TSAC enhances all farms to have the ability to produce safe vegetables and establishing a marketing system that ensures the alliance’s sales and distribution of vegetables across national markets. TSAC offers a variety of service such as program of training staff and managers of farms and affiliated communities to ensure standard vegetable growing, providing regular solutions by online when partners are facing problems, organize training program for members and students who want to internship TSAC community, and offering construction services of net houses. TSAC is strong commit to promote farmers to plant indoor quality vegetables with using net house. Goal of TSAC is also commit to build a national farm alliance that ensures a safe vegetables supply for the market in Cambodia and wish to develop an agriculture school to train poor and committed youths without charge about technique of healthy and safe vegetable planting and way of net house construction in order to increasing living standard of community people.

BAEA

Bangladesh Agricultural Economists Association (BAEA) is the apex body of agricultural economists of Bangladesh. Its mandate includes reviewing agricultural economic and other development policies and programs, conducting fundamental research on various aspects of economics, train economic reporters of print and electronic media. Since 1977, BAEA has been contributing to policy support as well as implementation strategy for government initiatives. BAEA already conducted 16 National and International conferences in different fields of the Agricultural sector. The overall objectives of the BAEA are to promote, advance and transfer the scientific achievements in all disciplines of agriculture with modern technology and exchange of knowledge to the farmers in accordance to their hopes and aspirations as codified under the constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, vis a vis welfare and development of the farming community; To help encourage and motivate the members of the association in the acquisition of scientific knowledge and professional skills in all matters related to agriculture by means of decisions, lectures, conference, symposia, workshop, publication of periodicals, journals, books and other activities related to agricultural and rural development; To help the government recognize and appreciate problems of agricultural development and of the farmers and suggest appropriate measures for their solution and to foster cooperation, solidarity and fellow feeling amongst the members of the association, uphold the honor and dignity of the profession and to lay down the professional code of ethics for its members to abide by in their professional conduct and socio-cultural aspects of national life.

National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) is the largest academic institution of Greece with long experience in administrative support of research programs. It is the oldest academic institution in Greece, which educates thousands of students per year in 43 Bachelor programs, while it provides more than 400 national and international master programs.
NKUA participates in ALIGNING with the Laboratory of Climatology and Atmospheric Environment (LACAE), which belongs to the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment. The Department focuses on basic and applied research concerning contemporary environmental problems and geohazards. It continues to develop and expand by establishing new academic units to serve the ongoing development of Earth and Earth Observation Sciences. The LACAE has been established in 2002 as an extension of the historical Laboratory of Climatology, founded at the University of Athens in the late 19th century. It specialises, among others, in atmospheric environmental research, climate variability on several temporal and spatial scales, air quality, impacts of weather and climate on public health and human activities, and investigates the causes and processes associated with weather and climate extremes (heat waves, droughts, floods, tornadoes, etc.) due to climate change. LACAE provides students with up-to-date skills to work on actual environmental issues towards environmental sustainability.
